"We had a fantastic day visiting the Eiffel Tower with summit access. Firstly, our tour guide Dinesh was great - he was knowledgeable but most of all, really fun. Rather than just telling us a bunch of historical facts, he made it interesting and interactive. The tour was well organised- the tour starts a short distance from the tower, they then take you to the tower (think you do go through the many queues quicker when you're part of a tour group) and take you up to the second floor. This is when you part ways and are free to visit the tower on your own and for as long as you wish. Accessing the summit is definitely worth it - the view is just extraordinary from up there. The tower is crowded, but that is something that can't be avoided. Overall, highly recommended tour, especially with Dinesh!"

What Visitors Say
"Adnoh was very knowledgeable and welcoming. We made a mistake in the meeting spot and the team saved the day."
"Aida was excellent! Very upbeat and funny. Kept things lively in spite of the hot, crowded day"
"Our guide Dishnel was great. very knowledgeable about the tower. price was a little steep but only could get the tickets 5 days out"
"Exactly what I was looking for. We got a brief overview of the tower, inside info about what to do, skipped the line!!!, and then were let loose. Perfect."
"Dinesh our guide was great and very informative. It was really helpful to be guided through the crowds and advised where to go and what to do at each point. A really fabulous experience. Thank you!"
"Our male tour guide at 1230pm was very good! He was the guide who lead the 1230 second floor group"
"It was a great experience… we missed our meeting point , I called and the guide was very accommodating. Lots of insight and suggestions."

"Very easy to find guide and it was helpful to have them get the tickets for us since we were in Paris on a last minute trip with little time. It was disappointing we couldn’t get to the summit that day because of the weather but they offer a discount if that happens which is very honest of them. We went to the second floor observatory instead and it was still amazing. You can honestly probably do this all yourself and get the tickets directly but if you want ease and to not have to worry about getting your own tickets book this tour."
"Dinesh was excellent. It was misty at the top but we could still see. We enjoyed it a lot and judging by the lines to get in I’m glad we did this tour despite the expense."
"Unglaublich schön. Wahnsinniges Erlebnis"

"Guide was okay but delivery of information was laboured and felt more so as we stood in the not so warm weather!! Once at the second floor we could enjoy the experience and views of Paris. Wouldn’t bother with a guide next time"

"Dinesh, our guide was one of the best!!!!"

Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting the Eiffel Tower
Everything you need to know before booking your Eiffel Tower tickets.
Entry tickets start from $42 per person for elevator access to the 2nd floor. A summit upgrade is available for approximately $20 more. The price includes an English-speaking host who guides your group through security and up to the 2nd floor. Children under 4 also need an entry ticket — add it when booking.
For most first-time visitors, yes. The summit sits at 276 metres — more than double the 2nd floor's 116 metres — and offers 360-degree views reaching 70 km on a clear day. There's also a champagne bar at the top. The upgrade costs roughly $20 per person on top of the base ticket. If you're short on time or have young children, the 2nd floor alone is still spectacular.
The summit offers Paris's highest viewpoint at 276 metres, a champagne bar, and Gustave Eiffel's restored office. The 2nd floor (116 metres) has a larger viewing platform, the glass floor experience on Level 1, and restaurants. The summit is more intimate but has a smaller platform with longer waits. If this is your only visit, the summit is worth the upgrade. Read our full summit vs 2nd floor comparison to decide.
This ticket includes elevator access — faster and less physically demanding. The stairs option (674 steps to Level 2, roughly 30 minutes) is available as a separate ticket and costs slightly more. Stairs have shorter queues but only reach the 2nd floor; the summit is always by elevator. Choose stairs if you enjoy the physical challenge and want to see the iron lattice structure up close. See our stairs vs elevator guide for a full comparison.
Early morning (9-10 AM) and the last entry slot offer the shortest queues. Sunset visits are magical but popular — book well in advance. Weekdays are quieter than weekends; Saturday and Tuesday are the busiest days. In summer (June-August), expect 30-60 minute waits even with pre-booked tickets. Winter visits are less crowded and the tower is beautifully lit. Read our best time to visit the Eiffel Tower guide for a full season-by-season breakdown.
Yes — you can take the stairs to the 2nd floor (674 steps, about 30 minutes for most visitors). The summit is only reachable by elevator. This particular ticket uses the elevator for all levels, but a dedicated stairs-climb ticket exists as a separate experience if you prefer the active route.
Yes, the Eiffel Tower is open until 11 PM most of the year and until midnight in summer. Night visits are special — the tower sparkles with 20,000 lights every hour on the hour for 5 minutes. Book an evening time slot for sunset-to-night views. The city lights from the 2nd floor or summit at night are unforgettable. See our Eiffel Tower at night guide for everything you need to know about an evening visit.
Yes. The tower and Champ de Mars are well-lit with security personnel present throughout. The area around Trocadero and the tower is one of Paris's most visited neighbourhoods. Take standard big-city precautions — keep your belongings secure and be aware of street vendors near the base.
Technically yes — there's a ticket office at the base. However, walk-up queues regularly exceed 2-3 hours during peak season (April-September), and summit tickets often sell out by midday. This ticket is marked 'Likely to sell out' for good reason. Pre-booking is strongly recommended to guarantee your preferred time slot.
Yes. The 1st floor features a transparent glass floor 57 metres above the ground — you can look straight down to the Champ de Mars below. It was installed in 2014 and is included with every ticket type at no extra cost. It's a highlight for visitors of all ages, especially children.
With pre-booked hosted tickets like this one, expect 15-30 minutes for security screening and elevator access. Without pre-booked tickets, queues range from 1-3 hours in peak season. The host meets your group at Le Champ de Mars Cafe and leads you past the main ticket queue, saving significant time.
Absolutely. Children under 4 need a free entry ticket (add it during booking). Strollers are allowed up to the 2nd floor. The glass floor on Level 1 is a big hit with kids. Note that the summit is not accessible for wheelchairs or strollers due to the small lift size. The hosted format works well for families since the host handles tickets and navigation.
